Twelve years ago, the very first Zenne y Frontera was born from the desire to intertwine the complex finesses of lambik with the richness of sherries. What began as a daring interplay between two centuries-old crafts has grown into a cornerstone of the 3 Fonteinen beers.
Because we work directly with family-owned, independent bodegas, we have access to a wide variety of cask sizes, ages, sherry types, and their microclimates.
Where we seek the perfect blend of different casks and sherry varieties for our ‘classic’ Zenne y Frontera, the Zenne y Frontera Single Barrel series celebrates the unblended and unique character of a single cask. We do not take this task lightly; we always select the finest cask or the finest examples from each batch of casks we receive, without a predetermined quantity, or even a guarantee of a release. Our Single Barrel is the most pure and honest expression of the meeting between the Zenne Valley and Andalusia. Each one is bottled by hand in a unique bottle with a refined label.

The three exceptionally characterful cask expressions of the 2026 release translate into:
ZyF Single Barrel PX from Toro Albalá (Montilla-Moriles) A three-year-old lambik that was allowed to rest for nearly a full year in a freshly emptied, thirty-year-old PX sherry cask. Located in the furthest reaches of the sherry landscape, this bodega produces a deep, complex expression in which the layered character of the sweeter Pedro Ximénez grape subtly shines through.
ZyF Single Barrel Oloroso from Gutiérrez Colosía (El Puerto de Santa María) A monumental sherry-lambik, brewed more than 38 months prior to bottling. This liquid matured in a sixty-year-old Oloroso cask at the mouth of the Guadalete River. Here, where the dry 'Levante' and humid 'Poniente' winds give the cask cellars room to breathe, exceptionally nuanced and layered aromas emerged, featuring the typical 'nuttiness' of the Oloroso.
ZyF Single Barrel Brandy from Josefa Pérez (Jerez de la Frontera) A rare creation in which a three-year-old lambik enjoyed nearly sixteen months of tenderness from an eighty-year-old 'Brandy de Jerez' cask. This spirit, distilled from the base wine of the sherry region, often slumbers for generations in the darkest cellars of the bodega. The result is a powerful, profound sherry-lambik with an unprecedented texture and maturity.
During the release weekend, you can taste the new Single Barrels in our bar, as well as purchase them in our shop. In addition, we will exceptionally be returning several older Single Barrel blends to our bar menu. Furthermore, Zenne y Frontera batch 1 and batch 2, the Zenne è Douro, Millennium Geuze, and Resonance blend 1 and 2 will also make a brief reappearance on the menu.

Furthermore, we are exceptionally returning several older Single Barrel blends to our menu for this occasion. To mark the celebration, Zenne y Frontera Batch 1 and Batch 2, Zenne è Douro, Millennium Geuze, and Resonance Blend 1 and 2 will also make a brief, momentous reappearance on the menu.
