The Mijole World Championship

In the shadow of the church steeples of Beersel and Lot, where the Zenne flows and our lambic is brewed and slowly matured in oak barrels, we cherish local traditions that bring people together over a fine glass of geuze. The folk game "mijollen" is one of them. Even the great writer Herman Teirlinck founded a special club for it. In those days, the geuze flowed freely, and cultural and political discussions flowed even more abundantly around the mijole box.

12 Pubs, 12 Boxes, One Title

We have placed 12 authentically crafted, solid oak mijole boxes in characterful local pubs across Flanders and Brussels. These spots currently serve as the training grounds for tomorrow’s champions. Each pub will send a delegation of 8 players to defend the honor of their "local" at the lambik-O-droom.

June 6: The Mijole World Championship in Lot

On Saturday, June 6th, the battle begins in the lambik-O-droom. It will be a day of healthy tension, clinking glasses, and the unmistakable sound of metal hitting wood.

The prizes

The stakes are high. In addition to eternal glory, great prizes are to be won:

  • 1st place: €300 purchasing budget in our shop

  • 2nd place: €200 purchasing budget in our shop

  • 3rd place: €100 purchasing budget in our shop

Practical information

  • When: Saturday, June 6th at 2:00 PM (14h)

  • Location: lambik-O-droom, Molenstraat 47, 1651 Lot

  • What: The battle for the title of World Champion Mijole

Want to try your hand at the world title with friends, your association, colleagues, or family?

  • Teams: 4 to 8 players per team.

  • Registration: Completely free.

  • How: Send an email with your team name and the names of the players to be@3fonteinen.be.

Where can you practice?

Are you the mijole marksman we’re looking for? Head to one of the participating pubs, grab a 3 Fonteinen geuze, and start practicing. Challenge your friends, sharpen your skills, and who knows—you might find yourself in the final rounds!
